Shoppers who leave items in their cart receive a gentle, timed sequence of reminders across email and WhatsApp, recovering sales that would otherwise be lost.

Figures reflect typical results for this kind of automation.
The challenge
A large share of carts were abandoned at checkout, and the store had no automated way to follow up. Manual outreach was impossible at the volume of daily orders.

The automation
We connected the store to a Make flow that detects abandoned carts and runs a timed sequence: a reminder email after one hour, a WhatsApp nudge the next day, and a final offer after two days. The sequence stops automatically once a purchase is made.
How it works
- 01
Cart abandoned
The flow detects a checkout left behind and starts the clock.
- 02
Email after one hour
A gentle reminder shows the cart contents with a one-tap return link.
- 03
WhatsApp the next day
A short personal nudge on the channel customers actually open.
- 04
Final offer on day two
A last message sweetens the deal for carts still waiting.
- 05
Stops on purchase
The moment the shopper buys, the sequence ends automatically — no awkward extra messages.

The impact
About 12% of abandoned carts are now recovered each month, follow-up runs without staff effort, and customers receive a consistent, on-brand experience.
Questions about this automation
How does the flow know a cart was abandoned?
The store platform reports a checkout that was started with a contact email or phone number but never completed. After a waiting period the store sets, usually about an hour, the flow checks the order status again and starts the reminder sequence only if no purchase has been made.
Can shoppers get a WhatsApp message without opting in?
No. The WhatsApp nudge goes only to shoppers who gave their number and agreed to receive messages at checkout, using an approved message template. Shoppers without that consent get the email steps only, and anyone who opts out is removed from future sequences automatically.
Does the final offer have to be a discount?
It can be a discount code, free shipping or simply a reminder that stock is limited. The store chooses the offer and can apply it only above a set cart value. Simple automations like this are usually live within days once the store and messaging accounts are connected.
